Three Cattle Rustlers, Phone Snatcher in Police in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command has said that the two suspected cattle rustlers are on its custody after they were arrested in Bauchi state and transferred to Dutse.

The command in a statement signed by assistant its police public relations officer ASP Abubakar Isah said the two suspects Amadu Ibrahim aged 30 years of Kachakama village Hadejia local government and Ali Usman aged 40 years of Itas Gadau local government are Bauchi state were arrested by men of Nigeria police Darazo Division of Bauchi state.

The statement said “on 01/10/2023 at about 1600hrs one Yusuf Abdullahi ‘m’ of Kafa village K/Hausa LGA, reported at K/Hausa Police station that, on 30/09/2023 at about 0300hrs unknown thieves trespassed into his house and stole away his two cows valued at about one million five hundred thousand naira (₦1,500,000.00k).”

“On receipt of the report, policemen on patrol and neighboring command were detailed, Also, a call was received from Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Darazo, Bauchi state command that, Policemen on patrol intercepted a vehicle with three occupants including the driver, conveying two cows strongly suspected to be stolen based on the description circulated, hence they were arrested.

On interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to having rustled the cows at Ruba village K/Hausa LGA and were arrested on their way to Toro LGA of Bauchi state where they will sell the stolen cows.

Meanwhile, the state police command has arrested one Jauro Hussaini aged 32 years of Maizuwo village while the other suspect fled to an unknown destination.

The statement said “on 03/10/2023 at about 1830hrs information was received from a Good Samaritan at S/Tankarkar Police Station that, unknown persons were seen with a cow strongly suspected to be stolen.”

When the search was conducted at the suspect’s house, four (4) bulls, three (3) sheep, and two (2) rams were recovered from the house which is strongly suspected to be stolen.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence alleged against them.

Also, “on 30/9/23 one Abdullahi Sule ‘m’ 50yrs of Galadachi quarters Kazaure LGA, reported at Kazaure Police station that, on 29/9/23 at about 0200hrs he discovered that unknown elements trespassed into his house and stole his three (3) handsets; Huawei Android valued fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000.00), Tecno Camon valued fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000.00) and Gionee valued eighteen thousand naira (₦18,000.00).”

On receipt of the report, Policemen attached to the Kazaure division visited the scene of the crime. Based on credible information, one Aminu Rabiu ‘m’ 15yrs of Galadachi quarters Kazaure LGA was arrested.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime. Among the three stolen phones, two were recovered from him.

Abubakar Isha added that all the suspects arrested will be charged to court for prosecution after a thorough investigation.
