KANO: We’re Currently Reconstructing 5 Facilities, Employs 36 House, 70 Medical Officers — HMB Boss

The Kano state hospital management board has said that it is currently Reconstructing five (5) secondary health facilities and employed 36 House officers and 70 Medical Officers with a view to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.

The Executive secretary of Kano state Hospital Management Board (HMB) Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda disclosed this in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER by board’s Public Relations Officer Samira Suleiman on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the development is was part of the state government’s commitment towards ensuring the facilities operates at their maximum capacity.

Dr Nagoda said the state ministry of health and the hospitals management board have evaluated all the 48 facilities under the care of the board, figured out where the lapses are and are fully ready to boost all facilities.

He further lamented that the government have employed 36 House officers and 70 medical officers and have since been posted to the various facilities in need.

On the issue of reconstruction of the health facilities in the state, the Executive Secretary explained that a total rehabilitation of Nuhu Bamalli maternity Hospital, Yadakunya leprosy hospital, are on goin as well as some parts of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital while Sir Muhammad Sunusi Specialist Hospital and Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital are on course.

Cleansing and cleaning materials have been provided so as to keep the facilities clean while a total of 100,000 OPD cards have been printed to be distributed to the facilities” he said.

According to Nagoda “to ease the issue of lack of equipments, the Executive Secretary explained that the board and ministry of health are considering implementing the use of Medical Electronic Records which would be synchronized with the pharmacy, consultation and record units for ease in keeping patients records and save the issue of lack of hospital cards and files.”

“Additionally, all laboratories in the hospitals would also be repaired and provided with upgraded functional equipments which would be readily available for 24hours use as well as having the best staff to attend to the patients” said the statement.

He then called on all staff to as a matter of urgency report to the various facilities they were posted to as the supervision team would resume the unscheduled visits. He said all staff should note that the first phase of the rotation has ended, “we would embark on an unscheduled visit to accertain those that have reported and serve query letters to those who have refused to report to their new posting.
