The Nigerian League of Women Voters (NILOWV) and five (5) other non-governmental organizations (CBOs) has declared its Support to appeal court decision declaring the candidate of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) candidate Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as winner in Kano state Gubernatorial Election held in March, 2023.
The chairperson of NILOWV Hajiya Halima Tanko Rogo while leading other organizations made the declaration at a press conference held in Kano on Sunday.
The CBOs are Kano leadership enlightenment And advocacy For development initiative, Kano leads, “Da Ruwana”, War Against injustice and Kano Youth Promotion Council (KYPC).

According to NILOWN chairperson, the verdict declaring Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the rightful winner is a testament to the strength of our democratic institutions and the rule of law, adding that throughout this electoral process, the league have remained committed to upholding the principles of fairness, transparency, and respect for the legal framework governing our electoral system.
The chairperson said the Court’s thorough review and affirmation of the election results underscore the credibility of the democratic process and validate the will of the people
Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna’s victory is not merely a personal achievement but a triumph for the collective voice and aspirations of the electorate. His leadership qualities, dedication to public service, and vision for our state resonate with the hopes and dreams of our citizens.
