CHRDEI, NOUN Trains 228 Students On ICT, Web Design Free Kaduna

The Centre for Human Resources Development, Empowerment Initiative (CHRDEI) in collaboration with the Centre For Human Resources Development (CHRD) and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has graduated 228 students trained on various skills acquisition free of charge in Kaduna state.

The graduation ceremony of the students which focus more on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Web Design held at NOUN Kaduna Auditorium hall on the weekend the Vice Chancellor National Open University of Nigeria, Professor. Olufemi Peters in his remark, tasks the students to make use of the knowledge impacted in them wisely.

NOUN VC represented by Professor. Isaac Butswat Deputy Vice Chancellor administrations NOUN, explained that they are were very happy as for the first time in history, that they are co-partners to produce graduates in the homogeneous graduation ceremony of only person’s who have acquired certificate in ICT and web design.

According to him, ICT is the moment and for any one who thinks what he’s saying is wrong, if they have an Android phone they should throw it away and see wether if they can have a good night rest because virtually everything we do in these life today is ICT.

Earlier the Director Centre for Human Resources Development (CHRD) Dr, Aminu Umar said ” NOUN is an online university and the most outstanding universities in Africa and they have the largest in Nigeria, while have no competitor as they are just trying to build in people who will offer the kind of service they offer to Nigerians, while the graduating students will be able.

“However, I want to let you know that these is just the beginning for CHRD, but by January this year, we intend to mound series of other certificate programs that could be run online among which include the care givers certificate that will be introduced by and where ever you are across Nigeria, you are at liberty to register and you will be trained to be a professional care givers.”

In his speech, the Founder CHRDEI, Honorable. Dr. Muhammad Ali disclosed that the CHRDEI leave up to its mandate of training the teaming youths in various skills development with a view to reducing unemployment, underemployment, the challenges of insecurity and creating a sense of belonging contentment, peace and peaceful coexistence in all faces of our society.

Dr. Ali added that they had a total of 289 registered students, but 61 were at various time withdrawn following vetting report on results they presented during admission process or offences they committed against the institutions standing order or social values.

He said, “it is also important to note that what we are doing in the CHRDEI has become necessary in view of the challenges Nigeria is facing, particularly Northwest Nigeria which includes but not limited to the economy of violence which are byproduct of the lack of social and economic mobility for our youth population in a society that thrives on consumption, corruption, nepotism and abetted by the unwholesome attitude of certain members of the larger society.

“This is the 27th graduation in 12 years and we are hoping for as we intend to give back to the society for free what was also given to us free of charge. And In this way, entrepreneurs could help address some of socio-psychological problems, delinquency, drug addiction and cultism that arise from joblessness and the challenges of insecurity.

The Founder CHRDEI, Hon. Dr. Muhammad Ali, urge the students to see the opportunity given to them by CHRDEI, CHRD and NOUN in order to better themselves and aim high in their future endeavors, and to strive hard to be good men and women that the country will be proud of them.
