The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has appealed to the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board to allocate Hajj slots to the state chapter of the association.
The National Secretary of the association, Comrade Wasilah Ladan appealed during a courtesy visit to the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board in Kano state.
According to her, considering the association in Hajj slots will allow the women journalists to freely further educate and enlighten women Pilgrims both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia on the cardinal tenets and principles of Hajj rites.
Comrade Wasilah Ladan commended Director General Lamiu Rabi’u Danbaffa and the management of the warm reception accorded to the NAWOJ entourage
Wasilah commended the DG for being media-friendly and urged him to maintain the tempo with his open-door policy.
She also expressed delight in the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf for his various projects on women’s development and for considering women in his administration.
In his remarks, women’s Lamiu Rabi’u Danbaffa promised to convey their request to the Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in their next meeting.
He commended the National Secretary for the visit and urged them to be media ambassadors while discharging their constitutional responsibilities in the state and the country in general.

Dr. Lamin congratulated her on her emergence as NAWOJ National Secretary and the youngest to attain such a position and urged her to be fair and just with her members.
He congratulated women across the world for witnessing yet another International Women’s Day, urging them to mark the day with pride of being mothers and leaders who motivate people to become good ambassadors globally.
