The Japan’s meteorological agency says a 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake has hit Taiwan leaving over 87,000 houses without power.
The seismology official was quoted to have said the quake was the strongest one in 25 years.
Reports say multiple buildings have collapsed in the eastern part of the island but no casualties at press time.

The incident has forced Teipei’s semiconductor manufacturing giant TSMC to evacuate its factories.
Meanwhile, China says it is willing to help and provide disaster relief assistance to its proclaimed territory.
