Fuel Scarcity: NSCDC Intercepts Tanker Loaded with Over 20,000 Liters of PMS in Kano

The Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command have intercepted a tanker with premium motor spirit (petrol) along Ibrahim Taiwo road in the municipality amidst shortage of petroleum products.

In a statement by SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the state public relations officer said the tanker contains more than twenty thousand (20000) liters of PMS suspected to have been diverted from a filling station in Kano, and being conveyed to an unknown destination in the neighboring Katsina state.

According to the him, Investigation is being conducted and in conclusion the petroleum product will be taken and uploaded to the original designated filling station in Kano and an appropriate legal action taken against the defaulters.

Meanwhile, following complaint lodged by traders of scrapped market situated at Bachirawa kwanar Ungoggo, Ungoggo local government of miscreants terrorising the market with vandalisation of public assets, individuals property theft, dealing in illicit drugs.

Consequent upon this, a joint operation involving NSCDC personnel from armed squad Unit and vigilantee have apprehended over fifty (50) suspected criminals in the market.

The command added that investigation has since been launched and in conclusion the suspects will be prosecuted.
