The Judicial Commission of Inquiry on political violence and missing persons set up by Kano State Government to investigate the causes of political violence and missing persons from 2015 to 2023, has fixed Monday, May 6, 2024 for its inaugural sitting.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Commission Secretary, Alhaji Mahmoud Bello Bari and made it available to newsmen.
According to Bari, the session will take place at Kano High Court no.13 Miller Road, by 10 am prompt.

Recall that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf inaugurated the two Commissions of Inquiry in April 2024 to investigate instances of political violence and missing persons from 2015 to 2023.
Justice Zuwaira Yusuf of Kano High Court along with other distinguished personalities were appointed as Chairperson and members of the Commission.
In the inaugural speech, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to hold anyone accountable for the alleged offence.
He also directed the Commission members to remain steadfast in serving the people of the state by ensuring that justice prevail.
The Governor however made clear that the move was not meant to witch hunt anybody, but a response to the mandate given to him by the good people of Kano state.
