Police Arrests Suspected Kidnappers, Fraudsters, Motorcycle Thieves, Others in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command said it has arrested two Suspected Kidnappers at Birnin Kudu local government area of the state.

Also, three Suspected fraudsters were apprehended by police in Hadejia local government area.

The command public relations officer DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam disclosed this in a statement sent to journalist on Friday in Dutse, the state capital, a copy of which is made available to GLOBAL TRACKER.

According to the statement,” following a tip-off, one Ahmed Audu ‘m’ aged 27yrs of Basirka town, Gwaram LGA and one Adebayo Abayomi ‘m’ 26yrs of Ogigi village Ijumu LGA of Kogi state, were arrested and brought to the Station for investigation. Consequently, the suspects were transferred to SCID Dutse for a discreet investigation.”

Similarly, “On 20/5/2024 at about 0800hrs, one Ibrahim Musa ‘m’ age 20yrs of Shagari Quarters reported at Hadejia ‘A’ Division that, about one month ago, one Abubakar Umar ‘m’ age 25yrs of Gandun Sarki quarters defrauded him the sum of one million nine hundred and forty-two thousand naira (₦1,942,000.00k) with the agreement that, he will give him United State Dollars (USD) as equivalent.

“On receipt of the report, detectives attached to Hadejia ‘A’ Division swung into action where the suspect was arrested and immediately transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation.

“On interrogation at SCID Dutse, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. He further mentioned one Yahuza Mukthar ‘m’ age 40yrs of Kurna quarters Dala LGA, Kano state and Suleiman Yahaya ‘m’ age 30yrs of NTA quarters Hadejia LGA as his accomplices, where they were equally arrested.

Also, a Police patrol team from Kazaure Division in collaboration with the community neighbourhood watch of Tsohon Kafi quarters, while on routine patrol at Kazaure New Specialist Hospital along Daura Road, found some vandalized armored cable wires reasonably targeted to be stolen.

After the team had been at the crime scene for some time, two people from Tsohon Kafi quarters Garzali Garba, who was eighteen years old, and Yahya Rabe, who was nineteen—surfaced and started assembling the electrical cable wires.

But on sighting the policemen, the suspects took to their heels and the police gave them hot chase, where the said Garzali was arrested and brought to Division for investigation.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to committing the crime and identified their recipient as Tumbul “m” of Wajen Gabas quarters in Kazaure LGA, who is currently at large.

KEDCO representatives were also invited, and they acknowledged that the exhibits belonged to them.

The command also conducted a raid at various black spots and criminal hideouts in Dutse, Kazaure, Taura, Sara, and Maigatari Divisional Police Headquarters.

During the raid, eighty-five (85) suspects were arrested with Four (4) blocks as well as two hundred and fifty-eight (258) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, one hundred and fifty (150) pieces of D5 tablets, forty (40) pieces of Tramadol tablets, forty-two (42) bottles of soak and die substance, four (4) packets and thirty-seven (37) pieces of rubber solutions, twenty-nine (29) pieces of Exol tablets, thirty-one (31) tablets of Pregabalin, one screwdriver and one scissors.

The statement added that all suspects will be arraigned in court and face the full force of the law following the conclusion of a comprehensive investigation.
