Police Arrest 10 Criminal Involved in Culpable Homicide, Armed Robbery, Others in Jigawa

Jigawa State Police Command has said that it has arrested 10 people on allegations of culpable homicide, armed robbery, vandalism of electrical cables, and criminal conspiracy armed suspects in the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ahmad Abdullahi, disclosed this on Thursday at a Press conference held at the state command headquarters in Dutse, Jigawa state.

Abdullahi revealed that Babangida Yusuf aged 28 and Baffa Nuhu 30, were arrested at Makara Huta area, in the Hadejia local government area of the state for vandalism.

According to the CP, the suspected vandals confessed to their crime on interrogation and mentioned Sadiqu Dudu and Ghali Adamu as their accomplices.

The CP disclosed that they were caught trying to load a 600-meter length of aluminum cable belonging to KEDCO, at Kwalandi Village in the Maigatari area of the state.

Also, he revealed that one Abubakar Isa aged 25, Umar Ibrahim 25, and Umar Nasara 30 years of Chori village in Ringim, were arrested for alleged armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and rape, according to the CP.

Furthermore, the CP highlighted that one Haruna Magaji 52 years of Kurna makaranta in the Kumbitso area of Kano, was arrested for theft reported at Bakin kara in the Maigatari area of Jigawa.

The suspect he said, was found in possession of the stolen items that included 32 bundles of brocade material, 22 bundles of other materials, 16 complete dresses, one generator set, and an iron rod.

CP Abdullahi, further disclosed that the suspect was found in possession of 16 different master keys, estimated to be valued at N1,219,600.000.

The command also arrested one Auwalu Shehu of Gida Dubu quarters in the Dutse metropolis for alleged robbery, where he reportedly stabbed one Hannafi Adamu and snatched a techno phone, valued at N30,000.

The suspect, on interrogation, mentioned one Abubakar Sani 27 years of Jigawa Tsada as an accomplice to the crime.

CP Abdullahi expressed that all the suspects confessed to their crimes and will be charged in court soonest.

He however commended the residents of Jigawa state for the continuous support they offer to the command in combating crime.

The commissioner added that all the above arrests were made between March 7, to March 28, 2024, respectively.
