Senegal Demands France’s Military Out of the Country

The republic of Senegal has demanded that former colonial mother France to ends it military presence the country, amid concern of Senegal’s sovereignty.

GLOBAL TRACKER sources revealed that in recent speech, Senegal prime minister questioned the reasons behind France’s continued occupation of several military bases in Senegal, citing concerns over the country’s sovereignty.

Prime Minister Sonko emphasized that Senegal desires full control over its territory, which is incompatible with the prolonged presence of foreign military bases.

He also pointed out that many countries have offered defense agreements, but this does not justify the occupation of Senegalese territory by foreign forces.

This development comes amidst a growing trend in the region, with neighboring countries like Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger having already expelled French troops and sought assistance from Russia instead.
