ACOMIN Visits Rano State Assembly Member, Bunkure LG Chair, Solicits Community Ownership of Health Facilities

The Civil Society in Maleria Control Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has visited member representing Bunkure at the Kano state house of assembly for follow-up advocacy on the need of renovating Bunkure Primary Health Care (PHC), Kumurya PHC and Gurjiya PHC all in Bunkure local government areas.

The state chairman of ACOMIN in Kano Dr. Nura Haladu who led the team said the visited is aimed at engaging with the stakeholders for prompt renovation as well as upgrading the infrastructures at ACOMIN’s operating health facilities across Bunkure local government.

“The purpose of the visit was to discuss the approved grant for renovating our implementing facilities: Bunkure Primary Health Care (PHC), Kumurya PHC, and Gurjiya PHC. Additionally, the team call for addressing the need for recruiting casual staff to resolve the issue of inadequate personnel at Kumurya PHC and Gurjiya PHC located in Bunkure LGA,” said Dr. Haladu.

He urged philanthropist in the area to support ACOMIN initiatives so as to achieve the set targets.

Meanwhile, the State Advocacy Team (SAT) has paid a similar visit to the Rano local government chairman Muhammad Naziru Yau on the renovation of Kwanar Juma health post and the need for a laboratory technicians at Saji health post all Rano local government area.

The Kano state program officer of ACOMIN Malam Sharif Abubakar who led the team appreciate the commitment of the local council administration, hoping that the issue will be resolved within the shortage fossil time.

Sharif urged members of the community to support the local and state government commitment in maintaining health facilities’ infrastructure and provisions of drugs and consumable for the benefits of patients.

In a remark the Rano local government chairman Muhammad Naziru Ya’u thanked the SAT for the visit, informing them that already a grant has been approved for the renovations.

“For kwanar Juma health post, already the grant has been approved and you should come next week to witness the construction process,” said Ya’u.

“The issue of the laboratory technician, a assure you a personnel will be posted to the facility in due course,” he added.
