The 7.7 magnitude earthquake has rocked Myanmar and the Thailand capital Bangkok causing many buildings to sway.
Reuters news agency report that people ran out onto the streets in panic as water splashed out of a rooftop swimming pool.
Also, startled residents poured out of high-rise condominiums and hotels in densely populated central Bangkok.

The united state geological Survey and Germany’s GFZ center for geosciences said the midday temblor was a shallow 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), with an epicenter in neighboring Myanmar.
GLOBAL TRACKER learned that the greater Bangkok area is home to more than 17 million people, many of whom live in high-rise apartments.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
