Renowned elder statesman and philanthropist, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Lamido, has warned the federal government to desist from threatening Nigerians planning to participate in peaceful protests against the current hunger crisis.
In a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER by his spokesman Abdullahi Isa, Lamido urged the government to prioritize measures to address the crisis instead.
“The government’s focus should be on providing sustainable solutions to the hunger crisis, not silencing citizens,” Dr. Lamido emphasized.

He called on the government to respect the rights of Nigerians to peaceful assembly and free speech, Prioritize addressing the hunger crisis through comprehensive and sustainable initiatives, as well as engagement in constructive dialogue with citizens to address grievances and work towards inclusive solutions.
The elder statesman reiterated his commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerians, and urged the government to take immediate action to address the hunger crisis.
