The Kano state chapter of the People Redemption Party (PRP) have expressed its objections to the amount of money fixed by Kano state Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) for the purchased of nomination forms by political parties in the scheduled local government election in the state.
GLOBAL TRACKER reported yesterday that KANSIEC have set aside ten million (10,000,000.00) naira and five million (5,000,000.00) for the purchase of chairmanship and councillorship form respectively.
However, Musa Maigari, the secretary of PRP in Kano described the act of setting the nomination form as marginalization of opposition political parties as well as supporting corruptions.

According to him, the NNPP led Kano administration deliberately take this action to prevent other opposition from partaking in the election.
“The costs of this nomination form is highly exploitatively, this is undemocratic and ways of marginalizing us as opposition political parties, we object this and the commission needs to review this for parties to have confident on it,” said Maigari.
“Despite the fact that the head of the commission is a staunch follower of Kwankwasiyya movement and NNPP led Kano administration, and by doing this it is clear testimony of serving his party candidates, which may takes government money to purchase form and fund their campaign,” he added.
Maigari hoped that the management of KANSIEC will review their decisions so as to uphold democracy and by extension the good governance.
