DOGA Celebrates 46th Graduation Anniversary, Calls for Sacrifice to One Another

The Dala Old Girls Association (DOGA) Class of 1978 has celebrated its 46th graduation anniversary with a call to all class members to cultivate the culture of endurance, tolerance and sacrifice to each other.

The president of DOGA class of 1978 Halima Laraba Jamilu made the call during 46th reunion held in Kano at the weekend.

According to her, the reunion is another incredible milestone in their lives as they gather to celebrate with one another, pray for the members that have died, chats, share sweets school memories, laugh and dance.

She said despite the challenges faced, a lots of has been achieved ranging from Unions’ CAC Registration, opening of bank account, a tokens to members with financial difficulties among others.

“Despite all odds, we’ve also accomplished several milestones to mentioned but fewer, “the 100 copies class photo Album published @ 4,500 with the 500,000 contributed, were distributed and the distribution is on going. The balance 50,000 was left in the interim account being used,” she said.

On the challenges faced by the Union, Halima Laraba said “during the year, many of our members were sick, some have lost their loved ones and one of us Hajiya Rakiya Nuhu had an accident but she is getting better. May Allah make it easy for all of us. The quarterly meeting that was a tradition of Doga 78 was never held. No project was carried out. No revenue was generated none of the members paid her annual dues, among others,” Laraba said.

She urged member to imbibed the spirit of friendship and continued to be stronger in supporting each other.

In a remark, the chairperson of the planning Adhoc committee Amina Tayaya Makama appreciate the contribution and commitment to all members by attending as well as donating for the success event.

Mrs Makama said expressed confident that union will come out with policies of training women especially families of the members the Union so that they can be self reliance and productive to the society.

“We are very happy for seeing each other after 46 years from graduating from secondary schools Dala, what I am dreaming that this organization will build a very good training center for women because I want women to be trained on various skills so that they can be self reliance,” she added.
