Jigawa Increases Ramadan Feeding Centres, Approves N4.8 Billion for 2025 Exercise

The Jigawa state Executive Council, has approved the sum of N4,836,546,000.00 for 2025 Ramadan feeding exercise across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa disclosed this at a press briefing on the outcome of the council meeting in Dutse on Tuesday.

The Council he said, has also approved the increase of Ramadan feeding centres from 609 to 630 centres respectively.

According to him, “the entire Ramadan Feeding Programme will be jointly funded by the State Government with 55 per cent and the Local Governments with 45 per cent contributions.

“The 630 Feeding Centers includes a minimum of two centers in each of the 287 wards in the state, Jumma’at Mosques, Prisons, Rehabilitation Centers, Motor Parks and Markets, as well as the 15 tertiary institutions in the State,” Musa said.

Also, the Council has constituted a committee for the implementation of the feeding program, as presented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara.
