We’ll Reward Gombe Teachers Who Demonstrate Honesty, Trustworthiness in Service, Says Commissioner

Gombe State Government says it is poised towards rewarding teachers who display excellence, honesty and trustworthiness in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Commissioner of Education Professor Aishatu Umar Maigari disclosed this while hosting the Head Teacher of Fage Primary school in Yamaltu Deba Local Government who returned the lost sum of N300, 000 he found during a recently conducted capacity building workshop for teachers in the area.

In a statement signed by Sa’idu Bappa Malala, the information assistant to the commissioner said professor Maigari also presented a commendation letter on behalf of the Government and people of the state to Mallam Abdullahi Ibrahim in addition to an undisclosed amount in recognition of his outstanding trustworthiness and high level of patriotism displayed despite the current economic hardships.

Prof Maigari who described him as a role model also promised to further reward Abdullahi Ibrahim professionally for his honesty and moral discipline and further directed that a bill board with the teacher’s picture should be erected in front of the school to serve as a constant reminder to pupils of that school that honesty is still the best policy.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board Babaji Babadidi represented by the Board Member one Dr Gambo Adamu Aliyu said the Teacher has proven his moral discipline as Teacher per excellence and called on other teachers in the state to emulate him.

Responding, the Education Secretary Yamaltu Deba Local Education Authority Usman Abubakar expressed appreciation to the State Government for the honor done to Abdullahi Ibrahim in recognition of honesty, integrity and positive heart in public service.
