In its efforts to tackle illegal allocation of curb-out and corner shops across Kano metropolis, the Kano state government has warned staff involved in land management to immediately desist from the act.
The warning comes as the office of Kano state housing cooperation were moved to Kwankwasiyya city.
In statement signed by cooperation’s director of public relations and englightenment Ismaila Garba Gwammaja qouted the managing director Alhaji Abdullahi Rabi’u as saying during the assumption of the new office, that the management further sensitize and review the existing laws and policies for the housing cooperation in an attempt to operate based on the laid down rules and regulations and within its mandate.

Rabiu further emphasized the need for strict adhering to due process and ensuring that all staff should desist from engaging themselves in any land racketeering.
“You recall Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has enacted an executive order prohibiting the allocation of land for curve-outs or corner shops under any guise, aiming to curb illegal land allocations and protect public spaces”.
He pointed out that Kano State Government is committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting the interests of its citizens.
This initiative demonstrates the government’s determination to promote good governance and accountability in the management of public resources.
He then commended staff and management of the cooperation for their yearning and aspirations to the present administration and urged them to maintain the tempo towards achieving the organisational goals, he stressed.
