Suspected bandits have attacked Waje community in Danko Wasagu local government area of Kebbi state killing no pure than fifteen 15 farmers.
The attackers also injured three (3) people during the assault, which took place on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Kebbi state Government has expressed sympathy with the people of Waje in Danko Wasagu local government area, and promise to use its power in protecting the lives and properties of people.
The State Deputy Governor, senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, who conveyed the government’s condolences also announced a donation of N24 million to the families of the deceased and the injured.
He described the gesture as a modest effort by the state government to support the bereaved families and the injured during this challenging period.
Senator Abubakar, assured that the state government would take necessary measures to tackle insecurity, enabling farmers to safely work on their lands.
The Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area, Alhaji Hussaini Aliyu Bena, confirmed that 15 farmers were killed and 3 others injured during the attack by suspected bandits.
The District Head of Waje, Alhaji Bala Danbaba, while commending the state government for the visit and financial support, stated that Danko Wasagu border with Niger, Zamfara and Sokoto states creates vulnerabilities, appealing for enhanced security to block these entry points.
