The Kano state Child Protection Network (CPN) has hold a focus group discussion for the domestication of Children Alternative care and support.
The Discussion led the Kano state commissioner for women affairs, children and disabled Hajiya Amina Sani Abdullahi.

During the discussion, members of the committee elaborate extensively on the state of children homes in the state and stakeholders from the state ministry of women affairs and children, the national agency for the prohibition of trafficking in person NAPTIP, refugee commission, Kano state Hisbah board and other relevant bodies maintained that child laws is a no go area and whoever violent such rights should met the full force of the institutions.
Meanwhile, the commissioner has assured that the state government commitment in domestication of the children protection law aimed at protecting children from sort of violence and human rights violations.

“The executive governor of Kano state is more concerns of children, that why anywhere he go you would see children chanting ‘Abba gida-gida’, on the road, in the school, at home, so i am assuring that this government is taking child protection law very serious,” said the commissioner.

The commissioner said all the stakeholders will be members of the committee and to be chaired by assigned officer from the ministry as chairman.
