The Kebbi State Government has despatched a high-powered delegation to Zuru to partake in the preparations for the funeral of the late Emir of Zuru, Rtd. Major- Gen. Muhammad Sani Sami, who passed away on Saturday in a London hospital.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi by the
Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki.
The advanced team, sent on the directives of Governor Nasir Idris, is led by the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru.

Other members of the delegation are:

The delegation will remain in Zuru throughout the period of the arrival of the late Emir’s body and burial as well as to join the Emir’s family in receiving mourners now trooping to visit Zuru to pay their condolences.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, said Governor Nasir Idris, who is presently on official engagement abroad, was deeply saddened by the demise of one of Kebbi State’s and Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers.
The Governor has directed that, all possible assistance and support be made available to ensure that the late Emir receives a befitting burial.
The Kebbi State Government continues to mourn with the Emir’s family, the people of Zuru, and the entire inhabitants of Kebbi State and the Nigerians in general.
