The Kebbi State Police Command, has foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescue of the victim, a 25 year Abdumumi Alhaji Ahmadu at Kesan village in Shanga Local Government Area of the State.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Nafiu Abubakar, said upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, promptly mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes, trailed the kidnappers and rescued the victim.
On the process, the unscrupulous elements shot the victim on his left leg, as a result of which he sustained serious injury and escaped into the forest.

The statement said, the victim has been rush to a medical facility and he is responding to treatment.
Its said that, the Commissioner of Police, reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the officers of the Command in the fight against violent crimes across the state, with a view to maintaining peace and stability.
The stat, the CP however, called on the Kebbi residents to be vigilant and support the police and other security agencies with vital, accurate and timely information, noting that partnership between the security agencies and citizens remained sacrosanct in combating criminality in the state.
