Hamas Leadership Survives Israeli Assassination Attempt in Qatar, Prompting Global Condemnation

The leadership of the Islamic Resistance Movement best know as ‘Hamas’ said it leadership has survived israel’s coward attack on Hamas leaders in the Qatar capital Doha.

Several sources confirmed the development to journalist including Reuters news agency.

GLOBAL TRACKER learned at least 10 explosions are reported in Doha as a result of Israeli strikes.

The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has condemned the attack calling it Barbarrick.

Also, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed says Netanyahu is taking the entire region to an irreversible point with his disregard for international laws and norms.

“Today, we have reached a turning point for there to be a response from the entire region against such barbaric conduct,” he said.

In the same vein, countries around the world including Cuba, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Canada and Iran condemned the attacks.

Others like Portigal, Netherlands, Spain, Kuwait, UAE, Russia, China has all follow suit in the condemnation.

But, the Islamic republic of Iran has called on Muslim world ‘to act in unison’ against Israel.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reacted to the attack in Qatar, saying the “only way to decisively address the recklessness of the Israeli regime is for the Muslim world to act in unison.”

“Iran stands ready to deepen cooperation in the interest of confronting threats to international peace and security,” the foreign minister said on X.

Iran fought a 12-day conflict with Israel in June. Tehran’s relations with Gulf countries have been strained by geopolitical rivalries and ideological differences.

In another development, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday in response to Israel’s strikes targeting Hamas officials in Qatar, diplomatic sources told AFP.

The meeting, scheduled for 3:00pm in New York (1900 GMT), was requested by Algeria and Pakistan, among others.
