The Kano state commander of NFSS Abdullahi Al’ameen disclosed this while briefing journalists shortly after addressing personnel drawn from 44 local government areas of Kano state as part of the service’s effort in strengthening operations following security challenges recorded in some parts of the state.

“We have been hearing kidnappings, assassinations and other criminalities from different parts of the country, now that Kano state recorded such, we at this service, will not relent in our efforts to assure the security of lines and properties. We have been supporting other states to tackle their security challenges, now that the challenge has come to Kano, it is a time for us to act and ensure that Kano is secured,” said Abdullahi.
“We’re not receiving any support from the state governments, as you can see, we all pay for our uniforms and other kits, let me tell you now we don’t even have operational vehicles, we are renting vehicles to be used in operations, so we are really seeking support of Kano state governments and the security agencies in the state,” he said.
“We want security agencies to know that we are not here to take over their activities, we are here to complete them, we are here to support them. We’ve sacrificed our lives to save people. So we are calling all philanthropists and well-to-do individuals in Kano state to support this service so as to secure the lives and properties of Kano residents,” he explained.
Abdullahi urged Kano residents to support security agencies in providing valuable and timely information on any suspicious movements for prompt action, saying “security is everyone’s business and requires all hands on deck to achieve it”.
“We have offices in all 774 local governments nationwide, likewise in Kano we have offices in all 44 local government areas in the state, so if you have any information regarding any security challenge do not hesitate to inform us as we are ready to work with relevant agencies to address it,” he added.
