Kano: 50 Students Complete Memorization of Holy Qur’an in Garko

No fewer than 50 Islamiyya students of Ubayyu bn Ka’ab Tahfizul Qur’an School of Sarina ward in Garko Local Government Area of Kano State, have graduated as Hafiz after memorising the entire Holy Qur’an.

The graduates, comprising 12 males and 38 females, were presented with certificates during the school’s third graduation ceremony held at the school premises of Government Girls Secondary School, Sarina.

The ceremony attracted Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials and other dignitaries, who offered prayers and words of encouragement to the graduates.

Speaking at the event, the Village Head of Sarina, Alhaji Umaru Muhammad, commended the proprietor of the school, Mallam Salisu Abdu Isah, and his teachers, particularly those coming from Sumaila, for their commitment and sacrifices in sustaining Qur’anic education in the area.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Garko Local Government, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, pledged to construct a block of classrooms for the school.

He also donated N1 million to the graduating students and purchased two copies of the school calendar for N100,000.

Similarly, a former Chairman of Garko Local Government and former Managing Director of Kano State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) Alhaji Yahaya Adamu Garin Ali, also purchased a copy of the school calendar for N100,000.

He assured his commitment to support the Qur’anic school in Garko local government, Wudil and the state at large, promising to continue in the same course.

The event was attended by several village heads and local government councillors from Garko and Sumaila LGAs, including the Village Head of Sumaila, represented by Dr. Ali Isa, and the Village Head of Alfindi.

The Imam of Farawa Juma’at Mosque, Mallam Badamasi Abdullahi, delivered a lecture highlighting the virtues and benefits of memorising the Holy Qur’an, while Alaramma Mallam Yusuf Sumaila, a renowned Hafiz, presented a darasi (lecture) to the graduates.

Some of the graduating students expressed gratitude to their parents and teachers for their support throughout their Qur’anic journey.

Residents of the area described the graduation as a major boost to the moral and spiritual development of youths, noting that such initiatives help preserve Islamic values for future generations that are yet to come.
