The Kano Alliance for Democracy and Development has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his strong commitment to democracy and good governance.
The group, whose motive is forging unity and cohesion inorder to advance development in Kano, a historic center of trade, politics, and scholarship. They say Kano is greater than any one person, and recent events prove this truth.
“Kano is greater than any individual,” said Comrade Mahmud Aliyu, Coordinator of the Kano Alliance for Democracy and Development. “We appreciate how Gov Abba has proven to be a true democrat by selecting his deputy governor through an open and transparent process.”

The alliance highlights the nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as deputy governor. They call it a win for democracy that reflects the will of the people, especially APC members. Gov Abba’s pragmatic approach has ended months of impasse with wisdom and unity.
“Hon Murtala Sule Garo’s nomination shows democracy has prevailed,” Comrade Mahmud Aliyu added. “It mirrors the people’s choice in the APC, and he will bring his wealth of experience as former Commissioner for Local Government to bear. His skills in grassroots development will boost Kano’s progress.”
The group urges other contenders to bury their shields and unite behind Gov Abba and Hon Garo. Working together will drive Kano’s growth in trade, scholarship, and infrastructure. This call for harmony strengthens the state’s future.
The alliance thanks Gov Abba for his wise leadership in solving the deadlock. They also thank the Kano State House of Assembly, especially Speaker Ismail Falgore, for their role in puting Kano First, above any other consideration and urge them to speed up the screening and confirmation process.
“We thank Gov Abba for using wisdom to resolve this,” Comrade Mahmud Aliyu stated. “Now, we call on Speaker Falgore and the Assembly to act fast so Hon Garo can join hands with Gov Abba to develop Kano, ensure rapid socioeconomic development, which the State truly deserve”.
