Staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) have decried the continued failure to refund deductions made from their January salaries under the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), describing the situation as unjust, distressing, and unacceptable.
The affected workers, who spoke anonymously, said the deductions—covering weigh-in and shift allowances were carried out without prior notice. They expressed deep frustration that, months after assurances of reimbursement, no refunds have been made.
According to them, the withheld allowances are a critical component of their income, particularly for staff engaged in technical operations and round-the-clock broadcasting duties.

“It is disheartening that these deductions were made without any form of communication, and even more troubling that the promised refund has yet to materialize,” one staff member lamented. “We remain committed to our duties, but our welfare is clearly being overlooked.”
The workers warned that the delay is worsening financial hardship amid rising living costs, stressing that continued inaction could erode morale and negatively impact productivity.
They called on FRCN management and IPPIS administrators to act swiftly, honour commitments, and restore confidence among staff.
Attempts to obtain an official response from FRCN management were unsuccessful as of press time. However, sources within the corporation disclosed that the matter has been escalated to relevant government authorities.
The incident adds to growing concerns among federal workers over recurring irregularities linked to IPPIS, with increasing calls for transparency, accountability, and reforms in the public payroll system.
FRCN employees have now joined a widening chorus of civil servants demanding immediate corrective action and a renewed commitment to workers’ welfare.
