The leader of Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah group has on Friday warned that Iran would inevitably retaliate after Israel’s attack which destroyed its consulate in Damascus this week, killing two of Tehran’s generals.

“This is a turning point to the enemy,” AFP news agency quoted Hassan Nasrallah as saying.
“Be certain that Iran’s response to the targeting of its Damascus consulate is inevitable,” Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech marking Quds (Jerusalem) Day — an annual day of pro-Palestinian rallies held by Iran and its allies.
“If they want war, we say to them, “Hello, welcome.” The Zionist enemy knows what war with Lebanon means,” Nasrallah said.

In another development, in response to heightened threats from Iran after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attack, 28 Israeli embassies and consulates globally have reportedly been shuttered temporarily – including in Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Turkmenistan.
Certain ambassadors are advised to avoid public events to ensure safety.
But the Israeli officials deny evacuation rumors, maintaining a stance of heightened vigilance without complete withdrawal.
