The Kano State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has urged people in the state to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in waterways, as the act course high risk of flooding during rainy sessions.
Also, the state commissioner of environment Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo has called on Muslims in the state to continue to pray Ceaselessly beyond the Ramadan period for Allah’s blessing and forgiveness.
Garo disclosed this shortly after the Eid-El-Fitr prayer, as he prayed for lasting peace and harmony in Kano State and Nigeria at large.

The commissioner also enjoined Muslim Ummah to put into practice the lessons learned during the Ramadan period and assist the needy and less privileged in society.
“People in the state should ensure proper sanitation and a hygienic environment, especially during the Sallah festivities when the amount of waste to be generated would be too much unlike any other day, hence people should dump their waste at the designated places for easy evacuation and not to throw them at the drainage,” said Garo.
The commissioner, however, used the occasion to congratulate Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the Speaker of State Assembly Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, State Executive Council Members, Five Emirates Council, and his Political mentor Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other Muslim Ummah a hitch-free Sallah festivity.
