The Chief Campaign Spokesperson of the Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Management Team in Kano State, Hon. Garba Yusuf Abubakar, has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over the composition of the state’s APC Campaign Advisory Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Garba, in a press statement dated November 2, 2026, described the calibre of personalities appointed to the campaign structure as an important factor in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
He said the council brings together experienced politicians, former public office holders, elected representatives and grassroots political leaders, adding that their collective experience could strengthen the party’s organisation and mobilisation across Kano State.

The governor, who chairs the Kano State APC Campaign Advisory Council, appointed former Minister of State for Housing, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, as Director-General of the Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Management Team.
Hon. Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa was appointed First Deputy Director-General, while other members of the management team include Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, Senator Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura and Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.
Garba said the appointments reflected an effort to combine political experience, geographical representation and clearly assigned responsibilities in coordinating the party’s campaign activities.
He also highlighted the 155-member Campaign Advisory Council, which includes former Kano governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Abdullahi Ganduje, Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin, and Senators Kawu Sumaila and Rufa’i Hanga, alongside other political stakeholders.
According to him, the presence of the former governors, serving lawmakers and other political figures provides a platform for consultation, coordination and engagement across the state’s 44 local government areas.
The campaign spokesperson said the structure could also provide an opportunity to strengthen party unity and coordinate efforts towards the campaigns of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other APC candidates in 2027.
Garba, however, acknowledged that the effectiveness of the arrangement would depend on the commitment of members to their respective responsibilities.
He said, as Chief Campaign Spokesperson, his responsibility would include communicating the campaign’s activities and programmes, projecting its messages and maintaining engagement with journalists and members of the public.
He called for unity, discipline and collective commitment among members of the campaign structure, stressing that the ultimate task would be to translate the appointments into practical political engagement and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
