Microfinance Bank Launches “KMC-KAYI” Banking app in Kano

A Kano-based financial institution Microfinance Bank, has on Thursday, launched a mobile banking application, KMC-KAYI Application in the state.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, in Kano, the Product Lead of KMC Microfinance Bank, Mr Abdulganiyyu Rufa’i, said the app was developed using a cutting-edge technology to ensure fast transaction.

He said the aim of the app was to give millions of small and medium business operators chance to access digital banking without technical difficulty.

“The app contains packages targeting diaspora, crossborder payment and providing modern banking solutions for urban professionals.

“The super app”, is the first of its kind in the state, which is the commercial hub of Northern Nigeria”

According to him, the app have highly secured features that protect customers’ information, privacy and is easy to operate even to small and medium enterprises.

He further explained that the app have robust security architecture that does not only give a user the ability to receive and send money, but also gives ability to invest, make purchases, pay insurance and other services.

He noted that the bank would continue to expand its services to banked and unbanked people in hard-reached communities in Kano and across Nigeria as a whole.

On his part, the Chairman of KMC bank, Alhaji Sa’adina Dantata, said he decided to invest in the bank to give small scale business owners chance to key into the modern banking system.

Dantata said the services of the app would give small scale enterprises ability to make transactions without physical currency.

He said the bank had provided employment opportunities to teeming youth, not only in Kano but in the Northern region.

“The bank had so far employed over 1,000 young graduates in Kano,Katsina,Kaduna and Jigawa state”

Also speaking, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, said the apps would enhance the growth and development of the economy of Kano State in particular and Nigeria in general.

“Kano being the Nation’s centre of commerce deserved more of such facilities as the KMC-KAYI APP would support small businesses and other services.

“The APP would help in overcoming the current financial inclusion challenges in the society by creating viable channels through which the unbanked could be financially engaged.”

Ado-Bayero implored members of the Kano business community to seize the opportunity and patronize the APP in their business and trading undertakings.

NAN reports that dignitaries who graced the occasion included, Business mogul,Alhaji Aminu Dantata,who was represented by his son,Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata, Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado-Bayero and members of Kano business community.
