Dutse Residents Eulogises Emir Muhammad-Sanusi, Offer Prayers

Residents of Dutse, Jigawa state capital, eulogies and offer special prayers to deceased Emir, Dr Nuhu Muhammad-Sanusi, who died on January 31, 2023.

Some of the residents who spoke in an interview in Dutse on Thursday, said the death of the Emir, was the worst to happen to Dutse.

Mr Kabiru Adamu, a resident of Garu area of Dutse metropolis, described the Emir as a kind Emir who related well with his people.

He noted that the late Emir was one of the few Northern Kings that have a special empathy for the masses.

“We have all witnessed his reign as children and adults and we have seen how well he related with our parents until his demise.

“His kindness will forever live in our hearts and we will live to pray and remember him because of the impacts he had in our lives.” Adamu said.

A politician, Mr Abba Inuwa, described the Emir a wise man who minded his business and never interfered in political happenings in the area.

He was a businessman and a scholar who occupied himself with a lot, so he had little time to pay attention to politics.

“Our beloved Emir promoted Dutse to where it is today because he utilised his abundant knowledge and wealth to boost the Emirate.”

“We pray that the soul of the Emir continue to rest in peace and we praye that the new Emir, Hamin Sanusi, his son, will uphold his father’s legacies.” Inuwa said.

Mrs Aisha Isa, 57, also a resident of Garu area of Dutse, said while growing up, the Emirate was a home to the masses.

She described the late Emir as an excellent judge who promoted peace in Dutse and other Emirates in the state and the country at large.

“The late Emir believed in education especially for us the girls. He made sure that people sent their female children to obtain a certain level of education.

“We will forever miss the Emir, whose death hit the heart of every citizen in Dutse a year ago and his good memories will live in us.” Mrs Isa said.

It could be recalled that the Emir Of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammad-Sanusi died on January 31, 2023, after ruling for 28 years.

His son, Hamim Muhammad-Sanusi took over the throne on February 5, 2023, five days after the death of the Emir.
