Inferno Razes Properties Worth 150 Million at Market Kano

A midnight fire has destroyed over 50 shops and properties worth 150 million naira at ‘yan katako Market Rijiyar Lemu, Fagge local government area of Kano.

Speaking to newsmen, the chairman of the market Alhaji Mamuda Musa Abdullahi explained that, the fire started at about 1 am on Monday Monday.

He pointed out that, the fire had wiped out over 50 shops containing plywood, foam, spray machines, chairs, and other carpentry tools.

Mamuda said they are yet to unravel the cause of the unfortunate incident.

The chairman commended the Kano State Fire Service for its prompt response in mitigating the fire.

He appealed to the government and philanthropists to support them as many traders have lost their means of livelihood.
