NSCDC Arrests One for Alleged Vandalism, Theft in Jigawa

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa state, has said that or has arrested one Inuwa Salisu for alleged vandalism and theft, in the Gujungu area of the Taura local government area. 

A statement signed by the spokesperson of the Command, ASC  Badaruddeen Tijjani made this known on Thursdays.

It said that the suspect, Mr Salisu, aged 30, was suspected to have vandalized and stolen some streetlight’s solar batteries (Roy Solar Battery, SRY12-150DC, 12V150AH).

He was arrested on Wednesday, the 25th day of February 2024 at about 1100hrs by the NSCDC surveillance team of the area.

The statement disclosed that the suspect was arrested while trying to take the stolen batteries to his house, to take them to Kano state for disposal afterward.

“Thevandalizedd solar batteries based on findings, have a total value of N350,000.” The report claimed.

The Command revealed that the suspect confessed to the crime and will be charged in court.

Meanwhile, the State Commandant, Muhammad Danjuma (CC), reiterated his commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure in the State.

He thus pledged to deal with those whose intention is to destroy what the government has put in place, for the security and peace of the general public.

The Commission,d however, further called on the general public to be security conscious and assist with relevant information that will help security operatives in combating crime in the State.
