The Civil Society — Scaling of Nutrition(CS-SUNN) has solicited the support of the Kano State Ministry of Health for the establishment of a local government committee on food Nutrition(LGCFN) in all forty-four(44) local government areas of Kano state.
The state coordinator of CS–SUNN Hajiya Zainab A. Musa called when she led a member of the organization to a courtesy visit in his office recently.
According to her, the purpose of the visit is to solicit for the creation of a Nutrition Department in all the MDAs and to extend maternity leave to six months and two months of paternity leave for women and men respectively.

According to her creating the committee as well as approving both the leaves will support the family to grow up their children successfully and have a healthy and better society.
“We want the commissioner to help in our agitation for the creation of a Nutrition department and committee in all the MDAs as we have already submitted a request to the office of the head of civil service,” she said.
Also, the public relations officer of the organization Salman Muhammad assured that the management of the organization will continue to follow the case closely to achieve the said objectives.
In a remark, the commissioner for Health Dr. Abubakar Yusuf Labaran assured that the state government will support any initiatives aimed at improving the health of the populace.
