Kaduna Govt Will No Longer Depends on Federal Allocation — KADIRS Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Jerry Adams says the State Government will no longer rely on Federal allocation to fund projects.

Speaking At a Ramadan Iftar Dinner with Kaduna State student leaders organized by state officials to address student challenges, Jerry Adams, Chairman of KADIRS, assured attendees of the government’s commitment to self-sufficiency.

He explained that Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani recently disclosed that due to servicing foreign and domestic debt inherited from previous administrations, the State Government faces challenges in executing new and completing abandoned projects.

KADIRS Chairman emphasized the agency’s strategies to increase revenue generation, enabling the state to undertake projects without relying on Federal allocations, including salary payments.

The country is facing a chronic Economic down town and the allocation from federal government is not enough even to pay salary, so heavy for kaduna state revenue service to be able to generate more and collect more so that for the government to be able to do projects apart from payment of salary and also and Carry out some very important project in the state.

“And in that regard they are working tirelessly with all 6 stakeholders, we have charge our staff we have all MDA’s we are working towards a situation where in the nearest future we will never rely in the allocation coming from Abuja. And in some very few months to come things will come to pass, because the Governor is giving us all the support that we need.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), Professor Abdullahi lbrahim Musa disclosed that KASU will soon commence the running of Distance Learning Programmes in line with global education standard which aims at giving many citizens willing to advance their education at the comfort of where they choose to reside and study.

Abdullahi further explained that Complimenting the E_learning Kaduna state University will in the next few weeks will introduce distance learning education, again this is also a game changer because it will open up opportunities for more and more people resident in the state to enroll in kaduna state University and under check courses that will improve their skills.

The Don also said let them to a global citizens because the distance learning courses were introducing  21st century course project in artificial intelligence, project in Health and formatic and computing and environmental and sustainability and energy and sustainable development.

On her part, the Organizer of the lftar Dinner and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Hajiya Amina Sani Bello said Governor Uba Sani attached premium attention on students as they are an integral part of government.

She said Students and Education can not be compromise, because they’re  the future leaders of tomorrow everybody has ones been a student and they will also take over where ever the government stopped so obviously we have to identify, appreciate and make sure we carry them along. This is a special month of Ramadan for Muslims so we use this opportunity to invite students from this place to come all around have our iftar then read have like interaction with the children because they are also part of the state.

The lftar Dinner was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor,  Malam Umar Waziri and other government officials, with student leaders representing the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and National Association of Kaduna State Students (NAKAS) from different higher institutions across the country who all thanked Governor Uba Sani for education development.
