We’ll Rejig Facilities, Transform Sporting Activities in Kano — Mustapha Kwankwaso

The Kano state commissioner of youth and sports Mustapha Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso says the state government will embark on upgrading and maintaining the existing sports fields to the International standard.

Kwankwaso stated this shortly after inspecting various sports facilities in the state as part of his planning and transforming the sporting sector in the state.

According to him, the purpose of the visit was to assess the current condition of the sports fields and discuss plans for the development of youth sports under his leadership.

The Commissioner visited various stadiums in Kano including, Sani Abacha Stadium at Kofar Mata, Kano Pillars Stadium in Sabon Gari, Ado Bayero Square in Sabon Gari, and Maha Sports Complex at Kofar Na’isa.

“What we are going to focus on is one, upgrading and maintaining the existing sports fields to international standards, two Introducing new training programs and infrastructure to nurture young talents, and three promoting a culture of sportsmanship and healthy competition among the youth in Kano State,” said Kwankwaso.

During the visit, he was accompanied by notable figures in the sports community, including Ambassador Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye, the advisor to the Kano Governor on sports matters, Alhaji Rabi’u Abdullahi Kawo, the Chairman of the Kano Pillars Fans Club, and Malam Bala Sani Shehu, the acting chairman of the state sports commission.

He emphasized the importance of providing top-notch facilities for athletes to improve their skills and promote sports development in the state.
