The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted over 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives along the Yauri/Jega road and handed them over to the Department of State Service, DSS in Kebbi.
The state Comptroller of customs, Iheanacho Ernest Ojike, said the dynamites were intercepted by the joint border patrol team of Customs, Army, Police, Immigration, and the DSS while on intelligence-based patrol along the Yauri/Jega road.
According to him, a joint examination was conducted in the presence of relevant units of the customs, and police, and the suspected items were found to contain 40 cartons and sacks totaling 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives (super power 90).

He said, the two suspects Alhaji Garba Jega and Abdullahi Aliyu were arrested and have since been charged to court and remanded.
The Comptroller said the handing over of the items to the DSS by the customs was done in the spirit of interagency collaboration and for continued investigation.
Receiving the explosive from the customs comptroller on behalf of the State Director of DSS, the Deputy Director of DSS, Anthony Oduwalu commended the customs and pledged that the interagency collaboration would be sustained.
