Football Club Barcelona have officially announced new signing Dani Olmo will be out for 4 to 5 weeks.

Following tests conducted in the morning, the official announcement from the club confirmed that the striker will be sidelined for four to five weeks.

The injury comes as a blow for Olmo, who was off to a fire start in his journey at the Catalan, scoring three goals in the three games he has played in – his best ever start to a new club.

Following the announcement, the 26-year-old is set to miss at least six games, which include clashes in La Liga – Villareal, Getafe, Osasuna, Deportivo Alaves – and the Champions League – Monaco and Young Boys.

The aim will be to have Olmo back for Barcelona’s crucial battles against Champions League enemies Bayern Munich on the 23rd of October and La Liga rivals Real Madrid in ‘El Clasico’ just four days later (27th of October).

As well as club action, Dani Olmo will not be able to contribute to Spain in their upcoming Nations League matches against Denmark (12th of October) and Serbia (15th of October) during the international break.

This is the player’s second injury since joining Barcelona in August after sensing a physical discomfort while on international duty with Spain.
