The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has held a strategic political meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for the Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Yahaya Adamu Garin-Ali, as part of efforts to strengthen party unity and consolidate APC’s political dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The high-level meeting, which took place in Abuja, brought together key APC stakeholders from Kano State and focused on strategies aimed at ensuring electoral victory for the party in Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Kano South Senatorial District and Kano State in general.
Among prominent personalities said to have attended the meeting was the Kano State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar Garko, alongside other influential party leaders and stakeholders within the APC structure.
Discussions at the meeting reportedly centered on reconciliation among party members, strengthening internal unity, grassroots mobilization and the need for cooperation among APC leaders across the constituency ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Yahaya Adamu Garin-Ali, a former Chairman of Garko Local Government Area and former Managing Director of the Kano State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), was said to have assured Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of his total commitment toward ensuring APC’s success in both Wudil and Garko local government areas.
According to sources close to the meeting, Garin-Ali pledged to deploy all available political structures, grassroots networks and mobilization mechanisms within his reach to guarantee victory for the APC in the constituency and beyond.
Political observers described the meeting as a significant step toward consolidating APC’s growing political strength in Kano South, especially within Wudil and Garko local government areas where Garin-Ali is widely regarded as an influential grassroots politician.
Garin-Ali recently emerged as the APC consensus aspirant for the Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency seat and has also successfully completed the party’s screening exercise at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, further positioning him among frontline contenders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Supporters of the APC in the constituency believe the growing collaboration among party stakeholders and influential political figures could strengthen the party’s chances during the polls.
The meeting is also seen as part of broader consultations by APC leaders to maintain cohesion within the party and build a formidable political structure capable of delivering victory across Kano State in 2027.
