“Gamayyar Darikun Sufaye Izala da Sauran Kungiyoyin Musulunci a Kano” a coalition of Islamic group has called for the immediate arraignment of the suspended Jigawa state commissioner for special duties Auwalu Danladi Sankara to court of competent jurisdiction to face alleged adultery charges labeled against him.
GLOBAL TRACKER recalled that the suspended Commissioner was arrested by the Kano state Hisbah board in an uncompleted building on 17, August 2024 on allegations of having affair with one married woman named Taslem Baba Nabegu.
However, Sankara and Taslem denied all the allegations.
The Hisbah board had tried to make the arrangements to no avail.
The Coalition at a press conference in Kano on Wednesday expressed concerns over the delay in their arrangements.
Dr. Abubakar Rabo Abdulkarim who spoke on behalf of the group also called for the immediate closure of social centres belonging to the Sankara which are allegedly used in nefarious activities in Kano state.
“The person accused of this illicit behavior is a critical stakeholder or an owner to some of the questionable centres in the state harboring illicit and illegal anti Sharia activities in the state particularly the notorious pikolo in Nassarawa GRA.”

“We are pleading with the authorities concern to close any Centre of questionable character harboring opposite sex.”
The group also called for justice and fair hearing to the accused persons so that it would serve as deterrent to others.
“We are reawakening the authorities concern to do the needful on this matter particularly justice to all. We in Kano we are seeking for justice because marriage is a critical Institution in Islam.
So we want a situation where by anything bothering on marriage should be done lawfully, diligently and decently.”
