The Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Kano state council has sworn in Abdullahi Muhammad as the chairman of the Pyramid Radio chapel.
Swearing Abdullahi, the acting chairman of the Kano state council of NUJ Mustapha Gambo Muhammad charged the new leader to work within the corridors of the council constitution of the the NUJ.
Mustapha Gambo said “as former chairman of this chapel i know that unity among members is paramount, i also know Abdullahi for long as trusted someone, and the council will work with him in the discharge of his responsibilities.”

The acting chairman then urged the new leader of the chapel to ensure and encourage his members to be attending state council periodic Congress and fully participates in the activities of the union.

In his acceptance speech shortly, the new Pyramid Radio Chapel chairman Abdullahi Muhammad a.k.a Yesko commended the state councils delegation, the head of News and current affairs department of Pyramid Radio Ibrahim Yaro Dawakin Tofa (Santurakin Sardaunan Kasar Hausa Maituta, Talban Alajawa) the accreditation committee led by Shu’aibu Sani Bagwai, the general manager of the state represented by Umar Nuhu, the head of administration and human resources, the national secretary of the association of women journalist NAWOJ Wasila Ibrahim Ladan (member of the chapel) and entire staff for backing as well as electing him into the office.
The new chairman assured to operate open-door policy within the jurisdictions of the constitution of the NUJ.
“As we all know, life comes in phases and stages with defining consequences. As we begin this phase together, I want to assure you all of my utmost commitment and desire to dedicate myself to the betterment of our great union and the interest of you all my dear brothers and sisters. I pledge to serve faithfully, objectively, and without bias,” said Abdullahi.
“I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you, and I assure you it is a decision you will not regret,” the new chairman added.
Abdullahi takeover from Aminu Abba Kwaru who transferred from Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to National Productivity Center, Abuja Head office.
