KDIN Prepares for 2nd Digital Kano Conference

Kano Digital Innovation Network (KDIN) says preparation have reached advance stage for the flags off of the 2nd digital Kano conference scheduled september this year.

Abdussalam Abdurrashid Hamza Maiturare, the acting president of KDIN disclosed this at a press conference in Kano on Sunday.

According to him, the KDIN is a network of digital oriented people working and making business within digital circles.

“Kano Digital Innovation Network KDIN comes into been after we have successfully finish first digital Kano conference in 2023 attended by more than two thousand digitally oriented people most of them youth who saw different opportunities on innovation circle across global communities,” said Abdussalam.

The 2nd Digital Kano Conference 2025, themed “Economic Resilience: Addressing Financial Inclusion, Food Security, Urban Challenges, and the Green Economy in Nigeria”, is a flagship event designed to position Kano as a leading innovation hub in Northern Nigeria and the Sahel region.

It said building on the success of the inaugural 2023 conference and supported by the Kano Digital Innovation Network (KDIN), this year’s edition aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies across key sectors to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Aligned with Nigeria’s National Digital Economy Policy, the conference will bring together government leaders, global investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and development partners to collaborate on solutions that drive digital transformation, financial inclusion, food security, smart urbanization, and environmental sustainability. Inspired by world-class events such as the Web Summit, Africa Tech Festival, and the World Economic Forum, the conference will feature a multi-track program combining keynotes, panels, policy dialogues, startup showcases, and networking opportunities.

Key initiatives include the launch of the Infrastructure Network for African Food (INAF), the Kano-China Innovation & Trade Expo, the Pan-African Youth Digital Lab, and the Women in Innovation Forum, all aimed at addressing regional challenges through technology-driven collaboration.

The event also seeks to catalyze investment, empower youth and women, and strengthen public-private partnerships will serve as a catalyst for economic resilience and digital leadership in Northern Nigeria, delivering measurable impact through innovation, inclusivity, and strategic action.

Coming off next month, the event would also strengthen Northern Nigeria’s position as a digital innovation hub in Nigeria and Africa. “Establish Kano as a leading innovation center in Nigeria and the Sahel, attracting investment by showcasing its vibrant startup ecosystem and potential.

Promote the adoption of digital technologies across Northern Nigeria’s economy from agriculture to urban services to drive inclusive growth.

The key focus areas include financial inclusion and FinTech, food security and AgriTech, artificial intelligence and smart cities, Women in Tech and inclusion, startup innovation showcase and Green economy.

During the event, KACCIMA, Contrack innovation Hub, AITS Hub, Greenlight Telecom, Fawahir, Startup Kano, Stem Club, Northdemy and more would partner with the network to achieve the set targets.
