The Kano State Government has stated that it will not tolerate the repatriation of northerners back to the state from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The state commissioner for women affairs children and disabled Amina Muhammad disclosed this a engagement meetings of Wazobia Widows Welfare Association, 19 northern states including the federal capital territory, Abuja held in Kano at the weekends.
She said Abuja is not different from any other state in the country, reaffirming that the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria has guarantee every citizens to right to live free without harassment, or unconstitutional blocked.
The commissioner urged the minister of federal capital territory Nyesom Wike and authorities of the FCT to desist from arresting and repatriating people especially northeastern saying the development would only course confusion and division among Nigerians.
“You cannot just arrest peoples just because they are poor, they comes from one region and repatriate them back to Kano, this is unbecoming, we the government of Kano state cannot accept this, Kano is not a place to be receiving people who were repatriated because of some peoples interest,” said Amina.
“My ministry have communicated to executive governor of Kano state and all the necessary measures would be taken to ensure do not continue,” added the commissioner.
