Organizers explained that the route is intended to showcase Northern Nigeria’s unity, talent, and cultural pride, while promoting safe driving practices among youths.
Comrade Waiya reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to industrialization, announcing plans to assemble and manufacture motor vehicles in Kano, thereby creating jobs and developing local skills.
“Kano is poised to become a hub for motor assembly and production,” he said.

“This rally is about precision, control, and discipline behind the wheel,” Suleiman said.
“It is designed to encourage young people to cultivate safe driving habits while showcasing their talents.”
Festival History and Significance
The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, which began in 1934, is one of Nigeria’s oldest cultural events. Originally organized to celebrate the end of hostilities between the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kebbi Kingdom, it has evolved into an international festival featuring fishing competitions, durbar displays, wrestling, music, dance, and modern sporting activities like the Kano motor rally.
The festival not only preserves culture but also promotes tourism, youth engagement, and regional economic activity, attracting thousands of visitors and participants annually.
