The Commissioner for the Kano State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, yesterday led a major empowerment programme for key APC support groups in the state, distributing food items and cash support as part of efforts to strengthen party engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The beneficiaries included prominent APC groups such as:
1. APC Media Forum
2. APC Marshalls
3. APC Youth & Women
4. Kano First Movement
5. Abba Door to Door
6. Kannywood Actors
Each participant received food packages and cash support, reflecting Commissioner Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar’s commitment to supporting politicians, less-privileged residents, and the people of Garko and Kano State at large.
This initiative complements his previous empowerment of over 6,000 vulnerable residents across the state.
During the programme, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, Chairman of the APC in Kano State, formally declared that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is the sole APC candidate for the 2027 general elections, signaling unanimous party support for the governor’s candidacy.
The event also featured remarks from Alhaji Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana, Political Adviser to Governor Yusuf, who criticized the late former President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to implement policies that could have benefitted Northern Nigeria, particularly Kano State.
“Key development policies that could have uplifted Northern Nigeria were left unimplemented by former president of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari, leaving our people behind,” Bakwana said.
Officials noted that the empowerment initiative strengthens both humanitarian support and political mobilization, demonstrating a dual approach by the commissioner and the state government to engage with citizens while consolidating party support.
The programme was attended by senior party officials including the vice chairman of Kano state APC Alhaji Baba and stakeholders, highlighting the synergy between social welfare initiatives and political preparations in Kano State ahead of the 2027 elections.
