Jubilant scenes were reported across Panda in Albasu Local government area of Kano state following the reinstatement of Ibrahim Sabo Muhammad as the Village Head of the community by the Gaya Emirate Council.
The reinstatement, which officially ended his suspension from office, was conveyed in a letter signed by the Senior Councillor for Administration of the emirate, Mansur Ibrahim Gaya, popularly known as Wamban Gaya.
According to the council, the reinstatement took effect from Friday, May 15, 2026, following the approval of the Emir of Gaya.

The emirate council expressed optimism that Ibrahim Sabo Muhammad would continue to provide just, responsible, and people-oriented leadership to the district.

Shortly after news of the reinstatement spread, residents of Panda reportedly trooped to major streets and gathering points in celebration, expressing joy over the return of the traditional ruler.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of excitement as community members, youths, and supporters welcomed the development, which many considered a restoration of stability and confidence within the district’s traditional leadership structure.
Residents were said to have offered prayers for peace, unity, and progress in the community while commending the Gaya Emirate Council for resolving the matter.
Community leaders and stakeholders believe the reinstatement will help strengthen local administration and restore harmony in Panda district under the Gaya Emirate Council.
Traditional institutions remain highly influential in rural communities across Kano State, where district heads often play critical roles in community mobilization, conflict resolution, and maintaining social cohesion.
