The Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has been granted bail by the Federal High Court in the ongoing alleged wiretapping case.
The court, however, adjourned proceedings for continuation of hearing by 1:00 p.m., even as the former governor remains in the custody of security operatives pending the resumption of the case.
El-Rufai, who has recently faced multiple legal and investigative proceedings involving anti-corruption and security agencies, appeared before the court amid heightened political and public attention surrounding the allegations against him.

Although the court approved his bail application, the terms and conditions attached to the bail were not immediately disclosed at the time of filing this report.
Sources within the court confirmed that security operatives retained custody of the former governor pending the continuation of proceedings later in the day.
The latest court development adds another dimension to the legal challenges facing El-Rufai, who has in recent weeks been questioned and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over separate allegations linked to his tenure as governor of Kaduna State.
As of press time, neither prosecutors nor El-Rufai’s legal team had issued detailed comments on the substance of the wiretapping allegations. O
