The Tinubu Maliya Shonikan Organization (TMS) Organisation has expressed concern that remarks allegedly made by the Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, concerning the politics of Bichi and Kabo could further deepen divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.

The group’s State Coordinator, Barrister Nura Abdullahi Bagwai in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano on Sunday, described the reported comments as potentially divisive and capable of creating further discord within the ruling party.

Bagwai said the APC should remain focused on its collective political objectives, including the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, senators and other APC candidates contesting state and federal legislative positions.

He said if the reported remarks were accurately attributed to the Deputy Governor, they would be regrettable and condemnable, particularly because of the position he occupies within the state government.

According to Bagwai, political developments in Kano have demonstrated the strength of the APC in Bichi Local Government Area, where he claimed the party has consistently won elections since 2015, beginning with the period when Hon. Ahmad Garba Bichi contested elections.

He questioned whether the reported remarks could be interpreted as suggesting that APC support should be concentrated only in Bichi.

“Do the Deputy Governor’s confirmed remarks imply that APC support is limited only to Bichi?” Bagwai asked.

He also questioned what such a position would mean for the wider support base of President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf in Kano State.

Bagwai further raised questions over allegations concerning possible political support for the presidential ambition of the Deputy Governor’s in-law, although he did not present evidence to substantiate the allegation.

He urged APC members and supporters not to allow internal disagreements to weaken the party ahead of future elections.

“There is no conflict between Bichi and Kabo, and by the grace of God, the APC will triumph from the top to the bottom,” he said.

The TMS coordinator called for unity among APC members, stressing that the party’s political strength depended on cooperation rather than divisions along local or individual political interests.

He urged party stakeholders to prioritise the collective interests of the APC and its candidates while avoiding statements that could create unnecessary tension among supporters.

The comments come amid ongoing political manoeuvring within Kano’s APC as party leaders and supporters position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
